Runs were in short supply at the Al Amerat ground in Oman as the hosts almost made a meal of a low target against Namibia.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and chose to bat first, but it was more of a day for bowling as the home side bundled their opponents out for just 96, with Shakeel Ahmed taking 4-25. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton top scored for the visitors with 30.

Oman started their chase looking like they were going to cruise to victory with the opening pairing of Aamir Kaleem and Jatinder Singh adding 42 within the first ten overs before Kaleem was bowled by Erasmus. Singh followed in the next over with number 3 Hammad Mirza the over after that as Oman found themselves on 48-3.

A 30 run partnership between Wasim Ali and Vinayak Shukla kept Oman in the hunt before they lost five wickets for just nine runs. The ninth wicket pair for Oman held firm though and secured the two wicket win 10 balls later. Gerhard Erasmus took 5-34 - his second five wicket haul in ODIs - but it was in vain.

This leg of CWC League 2 concludes on Tuesday when hosts Oman take on USA in a match between the teams that currently sit in the top two positions of the table.
