For the first time in 4671 men's ODIs, not a single over of pace was bowled in yesterday's CWC League 2 game between USA and Oman in Al Amerat.

The pitch at the Al Amerat ground has been favouring spin since the tri-series - also involving Namibia - began just over a week ago and runs have been hard to come by throughout.

That was the case again yesterday as USA - put into bat after losing the toss - were bowled out for 122, with Milind Kumar's unbeaten 47 their only score of note. Shakeel Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for the home side, taking 3-20.

In reply, Oman were bundled out for 65 with Nosthush Kenjige taking five wickets for only 11 runs. Hammad Mirza was then only batter for the hosts to reach double figures with 29. USA's total is the lowest successfully defended in any men's ODI not shortened by rain.

Namibia - the other team involved in this leg of CWC League 2 - will host the next leg starting on 5 March when they host Canada and Netherlands at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The next League 2 action for USA and Oman is currently pencilled in for June in the USA in a tri-series that will also involve Canada.
