Mark Adair and Orla Prendergast crowned successful years in international cricket with the premier prizes at the 13th Business Plus Irish Cricket Awards.
Adair had an outstanding year, with several match-winning displays and was named in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year.
Prendergast won the Senior International Woman’s Player Award for the second straight year. She starred with bat and ball, playing key roles in notable wins against England and Sri Lanka. She also got to stand in as Ireland captain for the first time and was also winner of the Evoke Super Series Player of the Year.
Dublin club Pembroke won the Business Plus Club of the Year, while Brigade and North West all-rounder Scott Macbeth also went home with two pieces of Waterford Crystal as Butlers Club Player of the Year and the Failte Solar Emerging Talent Award.
The female club player of the year was Lara Maritz, who played with great success for both Holywood and Balbriggan in 2024.
The women’s Emerging Talent Award was won by Christina Coulter Reilly of Clontarf.
Among a large number of grassroots awards, the Lord’s Taverners Ireland Volunteer of the Year was Sarfraz Ramay of Limerick.
The Cricket Writers of Ireland inducted three former players into the Hall of Fame: all-round stars Clare Shillington and Trent Johnston join the pantheon, as has the late Donald Shearer, who played 32 times for Ireland between 1932-1952 and whose three daughters travelled from the UK to collect the award.
