Ireland Test captain Andrew Balbirnie looks set to be transferred to the North West Warriors for the 2025 interpro season.

The 34 year-old has been capped 253 times for Ireland since his debut back in 2010 against Scotland in the European Championships.

The Warriors have disapponted in recent interpro seasons with batting fraility a recurring theme for Boyd Rankin's side.

Balbirnie's presence at the top of the order would no doubt add much needed quality and steel to the top-order.

Just what Balbirnie would make of such a move though remains to be seen.

However, the sparse domestic schedule for Irish cricket means there isn't too much of a drain on a player's time.
