The KNCB Dutch Lions Under 19 World Cup qualifying plans took further shape today with the confirmation they would spend a week preparing at the ‘North East Cricket Series’ in July.

Moving into its 22nd year, ‘The North East Cricket Series’ has maintained its reputation as one to attend, with KNCB returning in 2025 to play a multi format series as preparation for their ICC World Cup U19 Qualifiers in Scotland the following week.

The series schedule takes in stops in Newcastle, County Durham and Teesside, across multi match formats and team building exercises, with the team based at 4 star Spa hotel in a quiet village to remove distractions during their time off.

Subir Shrestha, KNCB’s High Performance Youth HP Operations Manager, was delighted to see the series news being unveiled adding: “It is a pleasure to be returning to the North East Cricket Series in July.  Thank you to John, and all of the staff who have worked to ensure the Dutch Lions are part of the series in 2025.  This year’s multi-format series gives us valuable time together, and a very challenging cricket schedule, which is a vital part in our preparation for the World Cup qualifiers”.

John D Holland, the North East Cricket Series Director added “Subir and the KNCB know they are always welcome in the North East Cricket Series.  It is going to be an adventure for the local amateur players to test themselves against a squad just days away from a World Cup Qualifier tournament”.

‘The North East Cricket Series’ will be releasing more series details including venues, formats, and live streaming details in the coming weeks.
