GLENDERMOTT
Captain: Alan Johnson
Overseas player: Modiri Litheko
Players in: as above
Players out: Manav Chhabra
Young players to watch: Jake Montgomery, Leyland McElwee.

Last season was one of inconsistency for Glendermott, who on their day could beat anyone, but on the flip side were prone to losses from strong positions.

There is great optimism as always at The Rectory, and they have a new overseas professional in Modiri Litheko. The 24-year-old is a hard-hitting wicketkeeper/batsman from South Africa. Modiri is an exceptional opening batsman that has come through the elite system of Northerns and Pretoria University and will find the batter friendly tracks to his liking.

Alan Johnson has the captaincy responsibility and he's very much looking forward to the new campaign getting underway in the coming weeks.

"We have a new professional Modiri, who comes highly rated. We are also working on another signing but haven't quite got it over the line just yet.

"We have lost Manav Chabbra who has relocated to Carrickfergus due to work commitments and is going to play for Bangor in the NCU. We have a good crop of youngsters and two to continue to watch would be Jake Montgomery and Leyland McElwee.

"Glendermott have the nucleus of last year's squad with Big Ben Mills such an important player for us who had such a great season last year. Ted Britton has signed again, and Ryan Nolan is also returning. He is due this week from England and I'm expecting big things from his now that he knows what the league is about. I'll be looking for the squad to pull together with everyone chipping in and not relying not too much on one or two individuals.

"Hopefully we won't struggle with availability issues that we have had in the past, and give the cups and the league a good rattle this year. We were inconsistent last year when it was a bit of a learning curve for the younger guys as we lost games we really should have won.

"I'm looking for improvement this year with us kicking on and challenging for silverware."
