RAILWAY UNION
Captain: Philippe Le Roux
Head Coach: Kevin O'Brien
Players in: Mohammed Sinan, Gethin Kelleher, Ryan Smith, Digamber Mishra, Abdullah Nawabzai, Tanvir Hassan.

Railway Union are back in the top tier of Leinster cricket after they finished second behind Rush in the Championship, and are quietly confident they can acquit themselves well in the top flight.

Their Head Coach is Kevin O'Brien and the former Irish international is looking forward to the new season.

"We have had a pretty busy winter with a few players joining us. Mohammed Sinan has arrived from Merrion, while Gethin Kelleher and Ryan Smith have both come from Terenure. Abdullah Nawabzai is in from Greystones, while we welcome back Digamber Mishra, and Tanvir Hassan is here from North County.

"We have also secured the services of a youth development officer from South Africa called Lotli Sesele who is an assistant coach with the Knights franchise from Bloemfontain. That should be a great help in progressing our young squad further. He will also be around to assist me with the firsts and also potentially help coach the seconds.

"It's a very young squad here at Park Avenue with 18 of our extended squad of 25 under the age of 23, which certainly bodes well for the future. The youngsters did well last year, helped by getting plenty of game time in the Championship and contributing. They are all raring to go.

"Players worth keeping an eye on are Liam McCarthy, who is looking for a big season and hopefully push for international honours. Rob O'Brien and Peter Le Roux have just returned from the Ireland Under 19 tour of Zimbabwe, and they will hopefully push on which will be great. Philippe Le Roux is working hard at Loughborough University and he's looking to stake his claim to a regular place in the interpro system having just come out of the 19s.

"All in all, it promises to be an exciting season for our young team and one that I'm really looking forward to, helping Railway progress and develop."
