Belfast High School will face Campbell College for a quarter-final place in the Schools Cup after a convincing first-round win over Carrick Grammar School.

Carrick struggled against the BHS attack with only Alex McCallister offering any resitance in his 28 out of a modest total of 73 for 9.

Connor Courtney (3-3) and James McDonald (2-11) were best with the ball.

The target proved little trouble with Evan Prior (29*) and Sai Darshan (27*) sharing a half century partnership in the 9-wickets win.

There are seven second round ties due to played over the coming week, looking to join Strabane Academy in the last eight, after the Tyrone side beat 2024 finalists Ballyclare last Friday.

Holders RBAI are at Wallace High School, while their second XI are away at Regent House.
