BREADY RECEIVE KING’S AWARD
There was a great occasion at Bready on Sunday when the Magheramason club were presented formally with the King’s Award. The club played an integral role in the community during the Covid-pandemic providing a meals on wheels service, as well as going above and beyond the call of duty in helping anyone who needed it at a difficult time.
‘Sunday will live long in the memory of everyone associated with Bready Cricket Club, as we were officially presented with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Tyrone Robert Scott, during our Family Fun Day and BBQ,” said the club on their Facebook page.
“This prestigious honour – the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK – is a testament to the dedication, passion and community spirit of all our volunteers, past and present.
“As our Chairperson Norman Allen reflected in his speech, this award is accepted on behalf of everyone who has contributed in any way since the club’s founding in 1938. We are proud to honour that legacy and remain committed to providing opportunities, facilities and support for both our local and wider community.”
Well done to Bready who continue to be the focal point for community activities in the Magheramason area and beyond. The club will get the opportunity to showcase their wonderful club during next month’s T20 internationals against the West Indies. That should be another wonderful three days in the club’s history.
