After experiencing several days of good weather, the tide turned on Sunday and heavy rain caused problems with several cancellations. The weather was better on Saturday, but it was cold, however all matches were completed.

Saturday: Elite Division

There was some expectation surrounding this match, with Ishøj being undefeated and Skanderborg being a tough team to beat when in their strongest line-up. On Saturday, Skanderborg were missing Nikolaj Damgaard (work), Omar Hayat (travel) and Torr Turner. Ishøj was also not in their strongest line-up but still chose to go to the wicket first.

They got off to a good start as Skanderborg had a hard time threatening the opening pair and it was a batting error from Mussa Malik (21) that meant they lost the first wicket. Lucky Malik (65) continued to pressure Skanderborg but with 115 on the board he was caught on the boundary. Adeel Akhtar (40) and Rabi Tariq (81*) continued to score and after Adeel was unlucky to remove a crossbar with his glove, Mansoor Khan (52) took over and together lifted Ishøj to a final score of 283. Skanderborg used 7 bowlers and had to get Shangeev T to throw away the keeper's gloves and bowl in the absence of a spin bowler. He took two wickets after all.

A boundary for Ishøj's Lucky Malik (Peter Power)

Skanderborg had a new opening pair with the missing Nicolaj Damgaard and Christian Peck (10) started by hitting two fours in the first over before being bowled out in the next. Surya Anand (25) took the total to 60 but after he was bowled out it was Anders Bülow (70) and Zishan Shah (83) who carried Skanderborg forward. Skanderborg had been pressured by Ishøj's bowling and Ishøj's two screw bowlers in particular put a damper on Skanderborg's scoring rate which meant that Skanderborg fell far behind. The pressure meant that Anders was caught and despite persistent attempts from Rizwan Mahmood (28) and Zishan, the wickets fell and Ishøj could emerge victorious with a 30-point victory.

Glostrup were visiting Svanholm Park. Glostrup surprisingly won over Svanholm in T20 so it was exciting to see if they could repeat the feat. Svanholm chose to go to the wicket first. Despite a quick wicket loss, Musa Mahmood (34) and Mads Henriksen (28) got going in the half where Musa dominated with 2 sixes before he was caught with 41 on the board. Abdullah Mahmood (29) came on and when Mads was bowled Said Alam (48*) took over as crank as the wickets started to fall at the other end. Glostrup's Ridhin Sharma with 4 for 34 helped limit Svanholm to 178.

Glostrup got a reasonable start and handled Svanholm's opening bowlers but at the first change of bowling Svanholm caught Sebastian Heath (16) with 35 on the board. Svanholm's Abdullah Mahmood (4 for 19) put Glostrup under pressure by removing Dinesh Kannan (23) and a little later took 3 wickets in the same over with a hat-trick chance. Suddenly Glostrup were 63 for 5 and only captain Shakeel Zeb (33*) prevented a total collapse but not a defeat as Moeez Raza (3 for 22) took the last two wickets.

Saturday: 1st Division

One match in the 1st division in particular stood out. Esbjerg, who were bowled out for less than 100 in 2 matches last weekend, got revenge against Svanholm's second team by scoring 373 in 50 overs, with coach Ruan Cronje leading the way with 137 in just 90 balls with 10 sixes and 10 fours. Ruan was joined by Jakob Rubin (55) and later Kasper Rubin (97), while Mads Slebsager finished with 66. Svanholm used 7 bowlers, all of whom got their ears pierced. When you have been bowled out for such a lot of runs, you could guess that it affects you psychologically, because Svanholm at the wicket lasted only 65 balls before all men were out with just 22 points on the board. Esbjerg used only two bowlers, Kasper Rubin (5 for 16) and Jeppe Nielsen (5 for 6). With a victory of 351 points, one has to look in the history books to see if this is a new record. A quick glance shows that in 2004 a cup match was played between Glostrup, who scored 523 and Ishøj II, who answered with 28……

Sunday: Elite Division

The heavy rain that swept through the country on Sunday prevented play from getting underway in the two matches in the Copenhagen area. This is a blow to KB as it is their second no result this year.

Sunday: 1st Division

After the previous's massacre in Esbjerg, Svanholm II was in Aalborg. The weather forecast said rain during the day so the match was shortened from the start to 30 overs. The match was completed but the players had probably gotten a little wet. Aalborg went to the wicket and Sanjula De Silva (65) led the way until he fell as the sixth wicket with 158 on the board. He was supported by Chirantha Wasasinghe (22) and Kishor Jayasingham (26). Roqibul Romel (22*) ended the half with 198 for 8.

Svanholm's Mustakim Aslam managed to take 3 for 22 in his allowed 6 overs. Svanholm did not get a desired start with two wickets down for 20 and behind in terms of scoring. With James Moniz (29) at the wicket, something was going to happen but he was caught and when the next man was run out without scoring, Svanholm's problems grew. Ammaar Anwar (69) kept the scoring going but the requirement was now over 9 points per over and Svanholm could not manage that and ended up on 162 for 7. Aalborg's Marcus Knapp with 2 for 20 in his 6 overs helped keep Svanholm down.
