Northern Knights claimed their second bonus point of the week with a resounding 109 runs victory over North West Warriors in the first match of day 3.

On a pitch where scoring was more difficult than the first two days, no Knights batter reached 40 but with four in the 30s, the Knights posted 175 for five.

Cade Carmichael top scored with 39 not out from 35 balls but the power-hitting came from Ben Calitz who thumped 35 off just 12 balls, including four sixes.

All four Knights bowlers used in the powerplay took a wicket as Warriors slumped to 32 for four and although Jake Egan, one of only three batters to reach double figures, survived that, he fell to an attempted reverse sweep against Carson McCullough who joined the party to take three wickets.

Left arm spin twin Cian Robertson also finished with three, taking the last two wickets with consecutive balls as Knights’ northern rivals were bowled out in the 13th over.
