Subir Shrestha, KNCB’s High Performance Youth HP Operations Manager: “Can I start by congratulating the players selected. The road to the World Cup Qualifiers goes through a very challenging North East Cricket Series, and I hope that you will once again, maintain our reputation as being a team always welcome at the series”.
John D Holland, the North East Cricket Series Director, added, “Subir and the KNCB know they are always welcome in the North East Cricket Series. Pleased to see some familiar names like Aaditt and Cedric returning in what is a powerhouse squad. It is going to be an adventure for the local amateur players to test themselves against a squad just days away from a World Cup Qualifier tournament”.
Thanks to an innovative partnership between NECS, hosts Billingham Synthonia CC, and the KNCB, the whole series will be available through YouTube Live. The coverage, coordinated by Billingham Synthonia’s Danny Phillips, will begin 15 minutes before each match, with followers recommended to register at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8xNsxyS5LMtTQ2Cv0GeyMkFRpiuPx4XD for reminders with start times flexible across the series.
Subir Shrestha, KNCB’s High-Performance Youth HP Operations Manager: “I am delighted that all of the partners have worked together to ensure the North East Cricket Series can be live-streamed. It is a great opportunity not only to showcase a very unique and challenging series to the widest possible audience, but also a host venue in Billingham Synthonia CC, who are rarely given the support that their efforts to make cricket available in such excellent conditions and hospitality deserve”.
Dr. Tom Harper of Billingham Synthonia CC: “On behalf of all the members, can I welcome the news of such a powerful KNCB touring squad, and the live-streaming through YouTube. It is fantastic to see a Billingham legend, in Danny Phillips, joining the KNCB management coordinating the coverage, and Luke Kenning working with the Army to support theirs, as it shows our members' commitment to making this series a success for all is more than words. Can I also add how much we appreciate the kind words and efforts to showcase our club on the world stage. It never goes unnoticed, and it is appreciated by all the volunteers whose unsung work keeps our club going”.
