The second of the six All-Ireland finals to be played this month saw Bonds Glen create a bit of history as they won an All-Ireland trophy for the first time beating Merrion in a tense thriller at Castle Avenue.

Leah Rodgers (22) and Jessica Young (15) helped the NW side to 115 for 9 with two wickets apiece for Ruby Casey, as well as Nora and Annabel Purdy.

Merrion looked ahead as they reached 60 for 2 with runs for Aimee Wilson-Moore (34) and Annabel Purdy (15), but the Bee Gees bowling unit stuck to their task well restricting the Leinster champions to 106 for 9.

Holly McClintock, Sarah Haslett, and Gracie Spratt all took two wickets for a delighted Bonds Glen side.

Merrion had reached the final thanks to a 55-run win over CIYMS.

Trudy Molins (46) and Lainey Harte (36) shared an opening stand of 64 on their way to 151 for 2.

CIYMS were bowled out for 96 with Sophie Chambers making 22.
