Railway Union's Ted Hasler scored a century as Ireland Under 15's started the defence of their Under 15 title at the Barnard Castle Festival with a 120-run win over Western Rhinos Invicta.
Hasler hit 11 fours and a six in an unbeaten 108, sharing a third wicket stand of 158 with Gautam Rana 78 (6 fours, 2 sixes).
He also added 80 for the fifth wicket with David Agnew (34), while skipper Marko Bates had earlier made 21 in a total of 329 for 6.
The Kent-based side made 209 in reply, with three wickets for Callum Armstrong, and two apiece for Lewis Pearson and Shravon Biju.
Ireland are back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Ace Academy.
