Munster Reds leapfrogged Leinster Lightning to go top of the 50-overs Interpro Cup table with a 27-run win at the Mardyke.

Kian Hilton 64 (5 fours, 4 sixes) top-scored, while Suliman Safi also got past 50, adding 81 for the second wicket with Swapnil Modgill (41).

Philippe Le Roux and John McNally both made 29 in a fifth wicket stand of 50 as the hosts made 287 - three wickets for Reuben Wilson and two for Melvin Deveraj.

Tim Tector (42) and Chris De Freitas (27) got the chase off to a fast start with an opening stand of 70, before losing three wickets for eight runs.

Lorcan Tucker 63 (7 fours, 1 six) looked to be rescuing them along with George Dockrell (28), but Munster kept chipping away.

Gavin Hoey (27) tried his best to rescue it with the tail, but three wickets apiece for Curtis Campher and Ben White were instrumental in the win.
