The champions finished the season in style with one of their best batting performances of the season.

Not for the first time, Neil Rock got Instonians off to a fast start, Shane Dadswell took it to the next level and Andrew White saw them to their victory target of 307 with four wickets and a remarkable 12 overs to spare.

Faiz Fazal, in his final game for Lisburn scored 77 but it was Ben Calitz with 63 off 34 balls (five fours, five sixes) who kickstarted the innings and Neil Whitworth was 96 not out when the home side finished on 306 for five.

It looked a daunting total but not for this Instonians side. Rock scored 53 off 26 balls (six fours, four sixes) and Dadswell then crashed 96 off 47 (nine sixes, six sixes). He was out on the stroke of drinks with Instonians already on 230 for five.

Captain Nikolai Smith and Rob McKinley went quickly but White, along with Cian Robertson, saw them to their 13th win (out of 14. White hit the winning single to bring up his personal 50.

Cade Carmichael scored over 1000 runs and Cian Robertson took 50 wickets

CIYMS’ victory confirmed Instonians as Premier League champions.

The home side posted 317 with Jack Beattie falling just eight runs short of a maiden senior century while captain John Matchett and Chris Dougherty were dismissed in the 80s.

Matchett and Beattie put on 124 for the second wicket and Dougherty joined Beattie to add 110 for the third.

They were bowled out in the 48th over with Ross Allen the most successful bowler.

Ben Snell matched Allen, removing three of the top four Adam Dennison, Daniel van der Merwe, first ball and Morgan Topping. Matthew Halliday hit 45 off 30 balls but Waringstown, who finish second in the table, were bowled out for 181 in the 25th over.

North Down captain Tyron Koen was 143 not out when the overs ran out at Moylena with the visitors on 350 for six.

Koen hit 17 fours and six sixes after Kian Hilton’s fast start, the opener thumping 11 fours and three sixes in his 32-ball innings of 66. He was out in the 10th over with the total on 100.

Muckamore were blown away in 22.1 overs, all out for 92 with six North Down bowlers among the wickets, Jacob McClure-Dalzell claiming the last with his first ball.

Muckamore finish fifth and North Down sixth.

A third wicket stand of 151 between Varun Chopra and Jared Wilson effectively settled this contest at The Cloughan as Templepatrick’s one-season stay in the Premier League ended in another defeat.

Chopra scored 82 and Wilson was 107 not out when Cliftonville Academy finished on 294 for six. Professional Abhishek Raut added 58 off 30 balls. Ross Bryans was again

Templepatrick’s dominant performer, the captain certainly not out of place in the top flight. He took four wickets and then scored 63 off 66 balls before they were bowled out for 145 in the 30th over. John Glass and Matthew McCord shared seven of the wickets.

Civil Service North coasted to a seven wickets victory after bowling out Woodvale for the lowest total of the Premier League season.

It was all over before 2 o’clock and although the home side lost three wickets they knocked off the 59 runs required in just 11.5 overs.

Woodvale’s innings lasted just 20 overs – it was a 50-over game – with only two players making double figures as they collapsed from 29 for one to 58 all out.

It was also their lowest ever Premier League total. Matthew Foster and Jordan Neill each took three wickets for CSN, Neill at a cost of just nine runs from four overs.
