Clontarf went top in the only game to beat the weather with a 47-run (DLS) win over Railway Union.

Seamus Lynch set the tone with a rapid 30 (6 fours), then 'Postman' Pat Xie delivered another century as he made 112 from 109 balls (14 fours, 1 six) adding 147 for the third wicket with David Delany.

The skipper just missed out on a century himself - his 82-ball 90 seeing the left-hander hit 14 boundaries in a total of 268 for 4 in 41.3 overs.

Railway Union were set a tough target of 215 in 25 overs and never really threatened it. Rob O'Brien made an undefeated 56 from 50 balls (4 fours), while Liam McCarthy scored a rapid 36 and Ireland U15 international Ted Hasler 23. Reuben Wilson took 3-23 and Ethan Marshall 2-24 in an excellent win.

The top two were denied by the weather at Rathmines with the contest called off just before the mid-point of the Pembroke innings. Leinster's Ben Mitchell (2-33) had trapped Tim and Harry Tector lbw, while Joey Carroll also gained an lbw verdict as Lorcan Tucker fell.

Andy Balbrinie was a steady presence, unbeaten on 54 (8 fours), taking Pembroke to 115-3 alongside JJ Garth (17*) when the game was abandoned.

The weather was also the winner at Anglesea Road where Merrion had reached 215-5 at home to Phoenix.

Stephen Doheny top-scored with 78 from 74 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes) adding 70 for the third wicket with Jamie Forbes (33).

There was also a fluent half century for John Anderson, whose 44-ball unbeaten 58 included 6 fours and one maximum, while George Dockrell (2-53) was the most successful of the Phoenix attack.
