The final games in the Interprovincial Cup take place on Wednesday with champions Leinster Lightning in pole position as they aim for a tenth title in 13 years.

Leinster need a victory against bottom of the table North-West Warriors, but the hosts showed last week that they will be no pushovers with a two-run win against Munster Reds.

The Dubliners welcome back Barry McCarthy to their squad replacing Reuben Wilson who is in England with Ireland Under 19’s. That brings their quota of internationals to an impressive seven, and it will take something special from Boyd Rankin’s side to deny them another crown.

The Warriors have two changes to their squad - Sam Topping misses out having had his tonsils removed, while Josh Wilson is injured. Donemana’s Billy Dougherty is set to make his debut with the gloves, while there’s a place too for Ballyspallen all-rounder Isaac Bird.

The Northern Knights make the trip to Cork hoping for their third win of the competition denying second-placed Munster Reds a shot at the title. They make one change from last week’s loss to Leinster, with Finn Lutton coming in for the unavailable James McCollum.

“We’re looking to end the season on a high note with a win,” said Knights Head Coach Simon Johnston.

“We have played some good cricket at times, but just lacked a little bit of consistency that has cost us. We have also had some injuries to contend with that hasn’t helped either.

“Cade Carmichael has been our stand-out performer, leading the run charts in the competition, showing why he was capped earlier in the season.”

Munster are without Curtis Campher, but Gareth Delany skippers the side as he continues his comeback from injury.
