ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 resumed in Canada yesterday as the hosts took on Namibia in King CIty. Unfortunately for the home side it wasn't a successful day as they lost thanks to a century by Namibia's Jan Frylinck.
Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and asked Canada to bat first. Openers Ali Nadeem - making his ODI debut - and Yuvraj Samra started the game with a 72 run partnership, which ended when Samra was dismissed for 30.
Nadeem went on to score 46 before he was out, but that proved to be Canada's highest score. The rest of their line up offered little resistance with the exception of Saad Bin Zafar's 35 from 34 balls. Tangeni Lungameni and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton both took three wickets for the visitors.
Namibian opener Willem Myburgh had an international debut to forget as he was dismissed for a duck within the first over. Fellow opener JP Kotze was also out cheaply and when captain Erasmus was the third man out, Namibia had only made 23 and were on the back foot.

But a 151 run partnership between Jan Frylinck and Dylan Leicher got them back in the game, with Leicher the next man out having scored 58. Frylinck and JJ Smit added another 42 before Frylinck fell for 114, his first ODI century. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton hit the winning runs three balls later to secure the five wicket win with ten balls to spare.
Scotland are the other team involved in this leg of CWC League 2 and they will be in action against Namibia on Friday. Canada's next game will be against Scotland on Sunday.
