WINTER CHALLENGE FOR DONEMANA PAIR
Donemana kept alive their league challenge with a seven-wicket win at home to Ardmore. Chasing 190 they lost DJ Dougherty early, but any nerves were eased by a second wicket century stand between skipper Gary McClintock and Raymond Curry, with both making half centuries.
The two will get the chance to spend more time in the middle this winter, as they jet Down Under to play for Moorooduc Cricket Club in Victoria.
While Curry spent last winter there, it's a new venture for Donemana captain McClintock, who felt the time was right for the move.
"It’s something I wanted to do now for a while and I think if I left it any longer it certainly would be something I would regret not doing," said McClintock.
"I am going out to play and hopefully the good form with the bat continues. Raymond Curry being there will hopefully make it a bit easier to begin with.
"It’s for six months and I really am looking forward to getting out there. It does make for quite a long season but I'm enjoying my cricket at the minute, which probably hasn't been the case for the past few years. Hopefully, I'll have a great season in Australia and return fired-up and ready to hit the ground running for Donemana next season."
