Rian Cassidy hit the last two balls of the 29th over to the boundary as Leinster completed an incredible fightback win to beat Merrion by two wickets (DLS).

Chasing a DLS revised target of 171 in 31 overs, Leinster slumped to 70-7 despite 33 from Gareth Delany (2 fours, 3 sixes) - two wickets apiece for Melvin Deveraj, Connor Blaxall-Hill and Peter Forkin.

Mark Tonge (43*) and Bilal Azhar (40) then salvaged the innings with an 8th wicket stand of 93 in 16 overs that set up Cassidy's last gasp heroics.

Earlier, a rejigged Merrion batting order slumped to 18 for 4, but Swapnil Modgill hit 13 fours and 3 sixes in an unbeaten 95 from 70 balls, sharing a half century stand with John Anderson (23).

Gareth Delany (3-27), Jai Moondra (2-27) and Mark Tonge (2-39) all among the wickets.

Pembroke kept alive their title hopes with a convincing seven-wicket win across the road at Park Avenue against Railway Union.

The hosts were missing quite a few regulars and it showed in a disappointing batting effort that saw them make just 114 for 9 in a game reduced to 30 overs.

Digamber Mishra hitting two sixes in a top score of 28, while there were two wickets apiece for Andrew Balbirnie, Andrew Boulton and skipper Paul Lawson.

Tim Tector and Balbirnie then made 41 apiece in an opening stand of 81 in 9 overs that broke the back of their modest target.

Tector hit 6 fours and a six in his 25-ball innings, while Balbo cleared the ropes twice in his 45-ball stay.

Jaagrat Srivastava took the bad look off the scoreboard with two wickets, but the result was never in doubt.
