Carrickfergus have announced that their popular Indian overseas player Atish Varape will return to the club in 2026.
Atish had a hugely successful 2025 season with both bat and ball for the Section 1 winners, and made a valuable contribution to the team’s successful season.
He scored 1138 runs @ 54.19 in all competitions, including five centuries and a highest score of 115.
His leg breaks accounted for 42 wickets @ 17.35, with a best of 4 for 23, and he also held 16 catches to complete a fine all round season for the Middle Road club.
He also did an excellent job in assisting with coaching players, including the many youngsters at the club and in several local schools.
Carrickfergus Chairman Jim Nelson in welcoming the return of Atish to Middle Road said: “We are delighted Atish will be rejoining us for the 2026 season. He contributed immensely both on and off the field and we look forward to him continuing to develop our young players next year.”
