It wasn't the greatest of seasons for the Bready senior team, but the rest of the club flourished with trophies galore for their women's and youth sides.

There was at one stage a real fear they would be dragged into the relegation dogfight, but a surprise win over Donemana was the kickstart they needed, and the Magheramason side eventually finished in fifth position.

Gavin Roulston topped both the batting and bowling scoring 691 runs at 32.90 (2 hundreds, 2 fifties) as well as taking 28 wickets at just under 20.

Overseas professional Josh van Heerden arrived late and left early, but still managed to hit 538 at 53.80 and pick up 19 wickets at 22.05.

David Rankin had a bit of a spurt after a lean start to make a respectable 517 at 23.50 (4 fifties), while skipper Ian Young hit three half centuries in 403 at 25.19.

Others worthy of mention were Ryan Clarke (301), Jamie Magee (265) and Kyle Magee (262).

Roulston's 28 wickets was ahead of Ian Young who claimed 25 wickets at 31.84, while their breakthrough star was teenager Travis Faulkner - the left-armer taking 24 scalps at 20.96 to make him a serious contender for NW Young Player of the Year.

Nathan McCombe was the fourth Bready bowler to pass 20 wickets - taking 21 at 14.09, ahead of Van Heerden (19).

David Scanlon's commitments meant he missed a significant chunk of the campaign, ending up with 13 wickets at 25.23, while Conor Olphert's injury woes again severely limited his appearances - the Irish international taking 11 wickets at 20.36.

Bready have more depth than anyone with the number of teams in the club, and their continued youth programmes mean they have the foundations in place for a bright future. The youngsters will be another year older and wiser in 2026.

Will that be enough to challenge for the major trophies? Time will tell.
